NSS unit of VKIDFT has organized an awareness programme on snake diversity and it’s venomous nature named “Pambarivu” on 15th June 2022, 2:00 pm at the VKIDFT Seminar Hall. The programme started with the usual NSS song. Hima Viswanath [NSS Secretary] welcomed the gathering. Dr. A K Beena [Professor & Academic Head] presided over the function. Shri. Muhammed Anvar [Assistant Consevator of Forests, Arippa Forest Training Institute, Trivandrum] inagurated the function in online mode and gave us an online message. Shri. Ajish T N [Licensed Snake Rescuer – Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department, Faculty-VKIDFT] was our resource person who handled the session very beautifully and gave us a vivid picture on how to differentiate between venomous and non-venomous snakes. He gave us the thought that ‘not all snakes are venomous and not all venoms are deadly’. All volunteers were very active and enthusiastic throughout the session. Dr. Jose Mathew [NSS Programme Officer] thanked the gathering and the programme ended by 4:30 pm in the evening.
